Duties & Responsibilities

The role of the General Worker involves the following duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled:

• Customer Management – Maintain and grow the customer base.
• Customer Support – Provide excellent service to customers.
• Sales and Profit Goals – Meet set sales and gross profit targets.
• Administrative Tasks & Reporting – Handle necessary paperwork and submit reports.
• Stock Merchandising – Arrange and display products effectively.
• Quotation Follow-ups – Track and follow up on issued quotes.
• Stock Placement – Ensure proper product positioning.
• Stock Returns – Return items not taken from designated areas.
• Product Presentation – Verify that stock is displayed correctly.
• Damaged Goods Reporting – Identify and report damaged stock.
• Receiving & Inspection – Check incoming stock for accuracy.
• Stock Depletion Reports – Notify management of low or removed stock.
• Product Promotions – Assist in promoting products.
• Customer Assistance – Support customers with product selection.
• Merchandising Standards – Maintain compliance with display guidelines.
• Equipment Maintenance – Ensure proper upkeep of tools and equipment.
• Company Values – Represent and uphold the company’s culture and principles.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

• Matric (Grade 12).
• At least 1–2 years in a similar role.
• A minimum of 1 year in shelf packing or merchandising.
• Familiarity with building materials is crucial.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets, attract new customers, and convert leads into sales.
• Ability to organize and conduct regular stock counts.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers effectively.
