Duties & Responsibilities

The role of the Shop Assistant involves the following duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled:

• Provide a warm, engaging, and personalized shopping experience for every customer.
• Motivate and inspire team members to achieve and exceed sales targets, driving overall sales and turnover.
• Maintain exceptional visual merchandising standards to create an attractive and enjoyable store environment.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
• Manage stock levels effectively to minimize shrinkage and stock losses.
• Ensure all products are accurately priced and properly labeled with price tags and signage.
• Review stock take and cycle count variance reports, investigate discrepancies, and escalate unresolved issues to the Area Manager.
• Adhere to point-of-sale and banking procedures, raising concerns with the Area Manager as necessary.
• Follow all store standards, policies, and operational procedures consistently.
• Execute all daily operational tasks efficiently to maintain a smooth-running store.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

• Matric, Grade 12, or equivalent qualification.
• A passion for cosmetics, retail, and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Knowledge of beauty and skincare products.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction with excellent service skills.
• Hands-on approach and a strong work ethic.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule based on store needs.
• Basic proficiency in email and Excel.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and friendly under pressure.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods.
• Confidence in demonstrating and promoting products to customers.
• Skill in creating a vibrant, energetic atmosphere to motivate the team and attract repeat customers.
