Job Description

Motor Spares Stop is seeking a goal-oriented and enthusiastic Driver to join its Wynberg branch. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safe delivery of goods, while adhering to all company procedures.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Key performance indicators include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct pre-departure and return inspections of the vehicle.
• Submit inspection lists to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for sign-off before receiving a new list.
• Immediately report any vehicle issues before leaving the premises.
• Verify parcels with the supervisor before loading, following the New Dispatch Loading procedure.
• Deliver parcels to customers according to the route schedule and trip sheet.
• Ensure customer compliance with the Proof of Delivery (POD) procedure.
• Follow the RFC procedure.
• Deliver all documents and collection slips as assigned on the trip sheet and obtain POD.
• Sign in trip sheets with the POD clerk, ensuring all assigned documents are completed and returned the next day.
• You are responsible for outstanding trip sheets and liable for any claims related to missing POD queries.
• No stock transfers between customer locations.
• Maintain and clean the vehicle, and report any issues to the dispatch supervisor immediately.
• Report any delivery or POD-related issues to the dispatch supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years of delivery experience.
• Valid driver’s license with PDP – Essential.
• Strong time management skills – Essential.
